Xantek Announces New Hosted PBX Service for Small Businesses
30 January 2006 Xantek, Inc. announced today the establishment of a new Hosted PBX service for small businesses. Hosted PBX can provide call attendant service, call routing, call queueing, voicemail, after hours service, and a host of other features.
Until recently, a PBX (Private Branch Exchange) system for a small business required the installation of expensive switching hardware; and, in many cases, special types of telephones that would work only with the proprietary PBX system.
Hosted PBX's, on the other hand, run on a hosting server at the Xantek facility, and allow a small business to set up a complete office telephone system, with extensions at every work station, and a completely customizable call routing plan, at an affordable cost.
«The Xantek Hosted PBX system can be used to set up a call center operation», according to Bill Neely, Xantek CEO. «Incoming calls are queued and routed to the appropriate agent when he or she becomes available. And the big kicker, the agent does not have to be in your office; he can be anywhere in the world, and the call will be routed to him.»
The Xantek Hosted PBX uses Voice Over IP (VOIP) technology to handle voice traffic over the internet, rather than through the normal telephone system. Since extension to extension calls are all handled this way, there are no telephone toll charges for these calls. And, since an extension can be located anywhere in the world, you can communicate with employees working at home or on the road at no cost.
