Who wants to be No.1 in the Google Search Engine?
19 March 2006 Capturing the number one position in Google sounds impossible...but somebody has to be there! Last week we interviewed Russ Augsburger, CEO of HelloAnGoodbuy Travel and Marketing Consultants, and presented you with an update on some very interesting internet marketing trends. Today's article is a follow-on to that update, and expounds upon one of the most unusual and interesting challenges I've ever heard, and so I wanted to check back with Russ to see how his team was progressing and to learn some more about how the team plans on capturing the number-one position in the Google search-engine, using the word, 'free', of all choices! We asked what the purpose of such an objective could possibly be. "if you do a search for the word 'free' in Google, you will probably be given in excess of eight-billion results, and in order to capture the first position resulting from that search, your website would probably need to have somewhere in excess of 20,000 links to other sites on the internet which are also using the word 'free' as a keyword, and which are linked back to your site. We want that position. When we capture it, we'll be able to do just about anything with it." It's all about commercial warfare, and capturing that first-place 'hill' is the objective. Russ belongs to a team (http://Weallwin2.globalwon.bz) under the tutelage of Veretekk Corporation and it's respective CEO and President, Tom Prendergast and Mike Darling. The challenge to the team was to capture the number one position in Google, using one of the most over-used search terms possible. I'm not clear on whether the offer was a serious one, but I am getting the sense that the team took it as such. And I'm also getting the impression that if it were not for the advanced technology of the Veretekk system used by the team in all of it's marketing ventures, you'd be a fool to even attempt such a feat. And when I asked Russ and other members of the team, including Paulette Serb, a senior marketing consultant and Professional Trainer with the Veretekk system, what she thought the team's chances were...she sounded a bit like Russ..."Just watch us!", she said. And that's exactly what I'm going to do. See you next week!
