The RSS reader seamlessly integrates with webmail and can be configured to work with any POP3 or IMAP-based desktop email client, such as Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird. An industry first, the Webmail.us RSS reader was built with the small business in mind. In addition to integrating with email, the reader enables email administrators to optionally regulate RSS feeds and pre-subscribe feeds for their users.
While there are hundreds of RSS readers available for download, Webmail.us does not require a download or installation. This is because its RSS reader intelligently converts RSS feeds to email messages on the backend, allowing any POP3 or IMAP-based desktop email client to receive them. RSS, short for “really simple syndication,” is a format for content syndication that allows publishers to easily syndicate content across the web. Several major news sites are now publishing their content via RSS and the technology has helped to spur the rise of the millions of bloggers who now freely publish content daily. RSS readers allow users to subscribe to feeds of interest; when a new feed is posted, that feed is automatically delivered to the RSS reader. Unlike traditional email newsletters, however, RSS readers put users in control of their subscriptions, as users do not need to provide any personal information, like an email address, in order to subscribe.
