Web Hosting Company Host Color Adds PhpMyVisites Website Statistics To Plans
16 January 2006 Host Color (http://www.hostcolor.com), a US shared web hosting provider has announced it will make available the popular PhpMyVisites to its customers. The web stats software will be one of the pre-installed tools the company offers. The web hosting provider has recently developed a new version of its NextColor control panel which allows quick integration of open source web development tools in it.
The PhpMyVisites software is a web statistics system that relies on JavaScript , PHP and a MySQL database to record and track visitors of a website. Host Color customers will be able to install it by filling in a simple form in their control panel.
"The advantage that PhpMyVisites has over similar systems is that it is quick, functional and very flexible. By using it our customers can track the visits to a number of websites they run, even if they are not all hosted by Host Color.
PhpMyVisites creates a snippet of JavaScript code that users need to put on a website to include it in the tracker." says Stanimir Dimitrov, Host Color web developer.
The new web statistics software will help webmasters better manage their website promotion and marketing channels. They can get detailed reports on the countries from which the visits to their site came from, as well as on referring sites and search engine keywords.
Host Color has also recently announced a webmaster contest. The hosting company invited authors of articles related to website industry to create their own accounts in the company's web hosting forum (http://forum.hostcolor.com) and to post their work in the section "Resource Toolbox". The best ten Articles chosen by votes of the Host Color Forum members will be awarded with publications in Yahoo and Google news as well as distribution within the Host Color's partners' networks that include more than 1,000,000 pages recognized by Search Engines.
The web host said it will reward prizes to the top 3 rated articles. Their authors will get 12 months of free web hosting service (Domain Max Pack) that includes all the advanced features that the web hosting company offers to its customers. Host Color will not require the copyright over the articles so their authors will be still able to sell, publish or distribute them elsewhere without any limitations. The web host just needs the authors' permission to post and distribute their articles without changes.
