Vodafone Italia, Fastweb Launch Broadband Cooperation and Lucent to Buy Software Company Mobilitec

The first service to be launched will be called Vodafone Casa Fastweb and allow Vodafone customers to pay fixed-line rates when making mobile calls from home and have broadband Internet access. Telecom equipment maker Lucent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:LU) said Tuesday it agreed to buy Mobilitec, a provider of content management software, for an undisclosed cash amount. Lucent, which itself has agreed to be acquired by French telecom equipment company Alcatel, said the deal strengthens its platforms supporting video, voice, data and multimedia applications, allowing more services for mobile and broadband users. Diamond I, Inc. (OTC BB: DMOI), a developer of wireless gaming products, including the GS2(TM) wireless hand-held gaming unit and the WifiCasino(TM) wireless gaming system, recently discussed the "value" and potential uses for the technology embodied in its "Biometrically-Secured Portable Wireless Entertainment, Shopping & Gaming System" pending patent application.
