TMC Unveils Industry's First Internet-Enabled Service That Delivers Long Distance
26 January 2005TMC Communications today launched ClearPro(TM), a revolutionary new service that uses Internet protocol to provide all of a company's telecommunications needs and reduces monthly phone bills by 25 to 50 percent. There is no other product in the marketplace that can deliver long distance, local and data via the Internet through a single, secure connection. ClearPro(TM) is available for businesses throughout the state of California and will be introduced in Arizona, Nevada, Washington and Oregon in the first quarter of 2005. "The phone wars are finally paying off for the businesses that have been beholden to their local phone companies," said John D. Marsch, chairman and CEO of TMC Communications. "There has been a great deal of talk around the idea of using the Internet to cut costs and improve service, and I am proud TMC is the first company to figure out how to make it happen for businesses right here in our home state."
TMC's ClearPro(TM) is made possible through an innovative switching platform the company installed in 2004. The new technology enables TMC to circumvent regional phone company (i.e. Verizon and SBC) infrastructure. For the first time, businesses can receive the same service at the same price for all of their locations throughout California, and the simplicity of working with one company. Among the other unique benefits of the service is a customer's ability to make free local and long distance phone calls between its locations throughout the state.
"With the convergence of technologies we've seen over the last several years, TMC can now deliver long distance, local and data more securely, efficiently and economically than any other phone company," said Marsch. "California businesses have been at the mercy of local phone companies and their copper wires for too long. The introduction of services such as ClearPro(TM) proves that era is quickly coming to a close."
Unlike other IP-enabled offerings, ClearPro(TM) allows businesses to migrate from their existing telecommunications equipment at a pace that suits their business situation. The service is compatible with all PBX systems, IP-enabled PBX systems and Key Systems. The only new equipment required is an AudioCodes box, which is covered by a one-time installation fee for the service and is waived with a three-year agreement.
With ClearPro(TM), customers are provided with up to 24 channels for voice and up to 1.5 mbps of dedicated Internet access. Businesses that switch to ClearPro(TM) keep their current phone numbers and rely on one customer care center, available 24x7, for all their telecommunications services, for all their California locations.
Businesses can choose between two ClearPro(TM) offerings: ClearPro(TM) for small- and medium-sized businesses and ClearPro-max(TM) for larger enterprises. Each plan includes a certain number of Zone 1 local minutes for a flat monthly fee as well as an industry-low long distance rate.
TMC has been "first to market" with other service introductions. In 1987, it built the first digital microwave network along the coast of California, providing next generation services to businesses throughout the state and replacing analog switches with modern digital tandem technology.
"TMC is known for breaking new ground in the telecommunications sector and ClearPro(TM) is no exception," said Marsch. "We will continue to explore new technologies that allow us to introduce progressive services as well as reduce costs for our customers."
TMC Agent Partners who sell ClearPro(TM) will earn a 15 percent commission on all traffic, plus a $400 per T-1 bonus through February 28, 2005.
