Three Converging Megatrends: Webucation, Home Based Business, & Internet Create Booming Business for Internet Entrepreneurs

But, what exactly is a megatrend? Merriam-Webster and Britannica have no definition for this 21st century buzz word. If a trend is "a prevailing tendency" or "new direction", then the prefix mega, which means "greatly surpassing others of its kind", indicates that a megatrend is huge...huge.
The first megatrend under consideration is the Internet, which has grown like Topsy since its inception. In the year, 2004, there were 605.6 million Internet users world wide, which is revolutionary. The Internet has not only shrunk the world, but people everywhere with home computers can now gain access to goods and services throughout the globe with the click of a mouse. The knowledge and information available is literally overwhelming and has become a living, breathing entity that continues expanding.
This brings us to our second growing megatrend which is the shift of individuals from attaining their education from brick and mortar schools to online education coursework delivered over the Internet to them within their homes. This has enabled people to pursue their educational goals in a more convenient and efficient manner and will soon create a $100 billion dollar industry, because as we all know, knowledge is power. This megatrend, called "webucation", was predicted by Peter Drucker, the business guru, in Forbes Magazine in July of 2002.
The third giant megatrend is taking place in the blossoming home based business industry. Every 11 seconds across the nations another person starts a home business. People have come to realize that not only is working at a job not meeting their needs and desires, they can make more money at home due to online leverage and the tax break given to entrepreneurs. As people embark on these ventures a smooth transition is needed to shift from years of on the job conditioning working for a boss or a company making them rich, to working for themselves to fulfill their own dreams.
In conclusion, the convergence of these three gigantic business industry trends is empowering Internet entrepreneurs throughout the world to rise above their lifelong circumstances and reach out to take what belongs to them, even millionaire status: big motivators are time and money freedom, retirement in comfort with dignity, and peace of mind. In order to be able to move those mountains aside that have stood in their way, education and knowledge in wealth and self mastery is the vital key to their success. This crucial knowledge, not available in schools, was at one time only known and understood by very wealthy individuals.
