The Sports Network & Bluestreak Media Launch Digital Audio Sports Updates; Post-game Summaries for all Major League Games and Division 1-A schools
23 February 2006 The Sports Network, the nation's foremost real-time sports wire service, has announced an agreement with Bluestreak Media to offer post-game audio reports to both its branded and raw feed clients effective immediately. "While we are always exploring and researching ways in which we can enhance and expand upon content on our site and that which we continuously provide to clients worldwide, we now find ourselves doing so via the methodologies of delivery - wireless to audio available via our site at http://www.sportsnetwork.com and on those of our clients" stated Ken Zajac, Director of Sales for The Sports Network. "Consequently, we are now able to furnish post-game wraps that will include summaries and, shortly, sound bites, thanks to Bluestreak Media," he added. TSN and Bluestreak Media will be offering post-game reports for all NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB games as well as all College Football and Basketball Division I-A schools. Other services will include reports on golf (PGA/LPGA/Champions) events each weekend, tennis (ATP/WTA) tournaments and major auto races from Nextel, Super Truck, NHRA, IRL/Formula One/Champ Cars and Busch Series. Skiing reports will also be among the offerings from across Canada, the Midwest, Mountain, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Pacific and Southeast. "Clients will have some 'financial flexibility' that could result in an additional revenue stream for them via their securing a sponsor for the audio reports which same sponsor can be added to the front and back bumpers of the report, thereby providing a methodology via which our clients can not only self-liquidate costs of the product but create a profit center as well," said Zajac. A TSN spokesperson went on to explain that the relationship between themselves and Bluestreak is expected to expand to the customization of "Podcasts," a much-sought-after item among many local sites today. At that point, TSN/Bluestreak Media will be able to offer reports for Regional and/or National Sports, Financial News, Entertainment, and Lotteries. "The Sports Network has been a great partner, and we look forward to this collaboration," said John Reed, Chief Executive of Bluestreak. "The personal media marketplace is growing and changing on an almost daily basis. In-depth, updated sports content will always find a loyal audience waiting for it."
