The Green Guide Institute Works with SRB Marketing to Increase its Reach Online
2 February 2006 The Green Guide Institute and SRB Marketing today announced that SRB would advise, plan and place online marketing campaigns for The Green Guide to obtain subscribers to its print and online magazines. «Current Green Guide readers have much in common with the nearly 68 million U.S. adults known as LOHAS consumers or ‘conscious consumers,'» says Wendy Gordon, The Green Guide's executive director. She notes that research indicates these consumers are well educated, Internet savvy, and predominantly female. «They also tend to act on their values, preferring products that are environmentally friendly and from sustainable sources over other, conventional products,» Gordon adds. «We want to find better ways to reach more of these types of readers, who value information that allows them to better act on their values,» Gordon says. She believes direct mail worked better in the '90s, but that returns have decreased since then. «We became familiar with SRB through its other clients and like the approach SRB takes for them to succeed online.» «Our passion is helping socially- and environmentally-conscious organizations harness the power of the Internet so consumers can make a positive difference with their buying power,» said Perry Goldschein, SRB's managing director. «Our clients trust us to do a great job for them because they know we share their values,» he added. «We're very pleased to be working with a leader in the field of eco-consumerism like The Green Guide Institute.» About The Green Guide Institute The Green Guide Institute is an independent media service that provides objective, responsible and accurate environmental and health information to consumers and others. The Green Guide and www.thegreenguide.com serve as the most practical, reliable, and trustworthy content sources for product choices and daily practices that are better for health and the environment.
