SimpleTech Announces SimpleShare with iShare; Files Available Anytime, Anywhere via Remote Internet Access
8 January 2006 -- Consumer Electronics Show -- SimpleTech, Inc.(r)(Nasdaq:STEC), a designer, manufacturer and marketer of custom and open-standard memory and storage solutions based on Flash memory, DRAM and hard disk drive technologies, today announced an extension to its SimpleShare(tm) networked attached storage (NAS) product line with the introduction of a 500GB version with iShare(tm). iShare provides an easy way to share, store and protect documents, digital pictures and music throughout the home or office and over the Internet. SimpleShare's iShareGallery feature allows users to quickly create unique personal web pages.

Expand, Back Up, Share
With SimpleShare expanded storage on a network is easy. SimpleShare can back up any computer on a network to a central location with Retrospect Express and share data between computers, digital music players and home theaters from anywhere in the home or office or remote locations via an Internet connection.
SimpleShare is an external storage device that connects to any network and allows multiple users to share of pictures, videos, movies, games, music and documents throughout the home or over the Internet.
For additional space, storage capacity can be increased beyond 1.5 terabytes (TBs) by connecting two additional USB external hard drives to the SimpleShare. About the size of a VHS tape, SimpleShare sits discreetly on a desktop and takes only minutes to install. No IT experience is required -- even novices can use.
Remote Access via the Internet
Digital photos and documents are now only a click away with iShare, a feature that provides remote access to data stored on a SimpleShare from anywhere via the Internet. With secure, password protected access, files can be quickly uploaded and downloaded directly to and from the SimpleShare.
Imagine being on vacation and being able to immediately upload digital pictures to a SimpleShare server for safekeeping. Unlike a camera, pictures cannot be replaced, so in the unfortunate event that the Flash card or camera is lost or stolen, irreplaceable pictures will be safely stored on the SimpleShare. Additionally, uploading pictures frees space on the Flash card allowing for more use.
Share Photos with iShareGallery
SimpleShare with iShareGallery allows users to quickly create their own web page by simply selecting the photos to be displayed and choosing a template. Favorite digital photos are no longer tied up on a home computer and are now accessible from any location with Internet access for easy sharing with family and friends. Users can also create email invitations to invite family and friends to view their online galleries.
Order High Quality Prints from Shutterfly
Like a photo and want to order it? SimpleTech's partnership with Shutterfly provides users with a seamless connection to a professional print service that allows users, and those on the shared network, to order prints directly from the iShareGallery. Simply click on the "Order a Photo" button in iShareGallery, specify the photo size, complete the billing/shipping information, and the order will be automatically transmitted to Shutterfly (www.shutterfly.com), the leading independent online photo service. Photo orders will be fulfilled within 24 hours and delivered to the destination of choice.
Automatically Organize Files with ShareSorter
SimpleShare's ShareSorter feature allows users to drag and drop files into the server, automatically sorted into specific folders. With one click, pictures, music, documents, presentations, and other important documents are conveniently organized and saved into their respective folders.
Pricing and Availability
The SimpleShare 500GB with iShare is scheduled to begin shipping in February with a manufacturer's suggested price of $549. SimpleShare is also available in capacities of 160GB, 250GB and 400GB with a manufacturer's suggested price of $249, $349 and $449 respectively. The iShare feature is expected to be available in all models beginning in the second quarter of 2006.
