Redfern Services, One of the Largest Web Design and Development Firms in Atlanta, Moves to 100 Percent Green Electricity at Its Corporate Deadquarters
24 January 2006 Redfern Services Inc., one of the largest web design and development firms in Atlanta, has purchased renewable energy credits for Green Power to offset 100 percent of the electricity used at its corporate headquarters.
As a part of Redfern Services on-going commitment of trying to preserve and protect our environment, we are now offering alternate sources of environmentally friendly energy. Today, these alternate sources of energy are commonly referred to as «Green Power». Renewable energy or green power is energy derived from any natural, non-fossil fuel resource that continually reproduces itself over time. Green Power is several alternate methods of producing electricity. These «environmentally friendly» methods include: wind resources, solar resources, low-impact hydro resources, landfill gas, sewage methane gas, agricultural waste and residue and animal litter.
"Without the active partnerships and leadership of the business community, we are not going to achieve the goal of finding viable alternative energy sources," commented Mark Redfern. Redfern Services will purchase renewable energy credits for it offices and offset 100 percent of the electricity used at its headquarters in the United States. The renewable-energy commitment is part of Redfern Services continued effort to use green technology to offset 100 percent of its electricity.
The credits will allow Redfern Services to be the first Web design and development firm in Atlanta to go 100 percent Green. Redfern commented that will have the same environmental impact on emissions of global warming gases as taking 60 cars off the road.
