Owners of ActivSoftware and the Email Application Server Offer $10,000 Software Challenge to the Email Industry

ActivSoftware (http://www.activsoftware.com) recently put forth what they call the “Email Server and List Management Software Suite Challenge.” The team offers a $10,000 credit via their Web site to any individual, or firm, who can prove they found a software suite that provides all the features included with the ActivSoftware email server and list management suite.

According to Rob Thrasher, CMO, “The most significant part of the feature set is the way XM Mail Server manages the email delivery process. It differs significantly from standard SMTP servers since it is coded in Java using the asynchronous routing core, or ARC, protocol. XM Mail Server is the most flexible and efficient system available. We call it eXtensible.”

Thrasher continued, “Well, we thought it was time to prove what we have been saying since early 2004. Our system provides the most functionality in the email industry. More than any ASP provider of email list management systems and more than any provider of downloadable email server software, bar none. Now if you can disprove it, we will credit you $10,000 in our system for you, or your firm, or any third party to license, any tool, on any level, available through our Web site. If you happen to be a software provider, you also have the rights to resell the license(s) at any price.”

XM Mail Server ensures bulk email campaigns do not offend major ISP’s, such as Yahoo, GMail, AOL, etc. Offensive acts include sending too many emails per connection, sending too many over a given period of time, attempting to resend bounces too often, and many more unintentional intrusions.

The ActivSoftware email suite is available for download, as an ASP tool, or as a combination called a hybrid. Pricing is based on the number of e-mails sent in a given timeframe, also known as the email bandwidth.
