Online Backup Software Company Recruits ISPs, Provides New Revenue Stream
10 May 2006 Remote Backup Systems, Inc. (RBS), developer and distributor of RBackup® online backup software on the web at http://remote-backup.com announced today that it will exhibit at the leading event for Wired and Wireless Internet Service Providers (ISPs). The event, named ISPCON, is scheduled for May 16th through 19th 2005, and will take place at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
Doubling its exposure as compared with the company's highly successful Fall ISPCON event, RBS will occupy two separate exhibit spaces at the spring event in Baltimore, which is expected to attract thousands of visitors and currently lists over 85 exhibiting companies.
"RBS is the largest provider of natively customizable online backup software to the ISP industry." commented Tommy Gardner, Director of Sales and Marketing for RBS. "As ISPs look for ways to grow their subscriber base, retain existing subscribers, and derive more revenue from all subscribers, remote backup is emerging as the ideal revenue and retention vehicle for these organizations."
While the company counts a diverse range of ISPs as licensees today, RBS now offers incentives for Internet service providers of all sizes, and enables quick time-to-market with a custom-branded online backup service, while minimizing the organization's overhead. The server software is hosted on a server machine which the ISPs host and manage themselves, while the client software is distributed to subscribers.
"For Internet Service Providers, offering online data backup services presents a win-win situation," Gardner continued, "ISPs can leverage existing bandwidth and hardware resources to offer remote data backup services to their clients. After initial setup and configuration, this service is fully automated and can provide a largely unattended recurring revenue stream."
