New Real-time Internet Monitoring Service...
28 November 2004Geometric Group LLC. and PubSub Concepts Inc. today announced the creation of Monitor110 Inc.. The new company taps powerful prospective search / "matching" technology to offer institutional investors better and faster access to the data needed to make investment decisions.
Monitor110 will leverage PubSub"s proprietary "matching engine", which is able to read millions of data sources, perform rapid complex analysis, and instantly notify users when relevant data is discovered. Monitor110 also plans to offer a variety of complementary technologies related to data visualization, web data collection and real-time linguistic contextual text analysis.
"We live in an increasingly competitive investment environment, where the universe of available data and technology is changing every day" said Jeff Stewart, Geometric Group chairman. "Monitor110 was founded to bring innovative real-time data and technologies to institutional investors, especially hedge funds".
The two companies worked together under the radar for 12 months before officially announcing the jointly owned company. "In the past, the ability to monitor massive quantities of unstructured data in real-time was reserved for the world"s top national intelligence agencies" said Stewart. "We are impressed with how the PubSub technology makes this power accessible to a much wider audience."
The system currently analyzes over 6.5 million internet-based data sources including news feeds, weblogs, SEC filings, web sites and Usenet groups. "The core PubSub engine is capable of analyzing over a trillion data-query combinations a day" commented PubSub CTO and co-founder Bob Wyman. "The Geometric Group has extended and customized the technology to meet the needs of institutional investors. We are pleased to work with them in the creation of Monitor110."
