NamesBeyond, Accredited .EU Domain Name Registrar, Opens Global Pre-Registrations
20 September 2005
The European Commission selected EURid, a not for profit organisation built around the Belgian, Italian and Swedish registries, to run the .EU Top Level Domain (TLD). The .EU Registry will be modeled after Belgium's .BE registry systems, which has been integrated into NamesBeyond's advanced registrar technology platform.
"The .EU domain name has the potential to be one of the most powerful online identity tools for organizations and individuals focused on the European community. Across our global offices in North America and Asia, we have begun working with clients to ensure they conform to the very strict rules of the .EU registry," said Uma Murali, President & CEO of NamesBeyond. "We will validate all details of each application, identifying and resolving problem areas so that .EU Sunrise applications are validly submitted."
The .EU Sunrise registration documentary evidence will be validated by a global team at PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Belgium. NamesBeyond has undertaken special training of its staff to make sure that companies, law firms and holders of Intellectual Property rights who apply for their names in the .EU Sunrise Phase I and Phase II periods conform to the regulations correctly. Special processing and registration fees apply for all .EU Sunrise applications and registrations.
"Companies should be careful in which registrar they choose for .EU name applications," said Uma Murali. "Special rules, strict restrictions against use of resellers, and required familiarity with regulations require skilled and trained staff at your registrar. Choosing the lowest priced offering may result in a failed application process."
Names Beyond is accredited for the newly created .TRAVEL, .JOBS domain names, in addition to its portfolio of services for .COM, .NET, .ORG, .IN, .INFO, .BIZ, .US, and .NAME.
