Macromedia Partners With Rapid Intake to Support and Enhance Dreamweaver's CourseBuilder and Flash's Learning Interactions
28 November 2005Rapid Intake Inc. (http://www.rapidintake.com), publishers of the eLearning Developer Series line of books, has been selected by Macromedia to support and enhance Macromedia’s learning extensions to Dreamweaver and Flash.
Dreamweaver and Flash are two of the most widely used tools to design and develop online content. The learning extensions to these products make it easier for e-learning developers to create online interactive activities for instructional purposes.
“We have been active supporters and promoters of using Dreamweaver and Flash in the e-learning space for some time,” said Garin Hess, CEO of Rapid Intake. “We’ve been writing books and training other e-learning developers on these tools for several years. So we are obviously thrilled with Macromedia’s decision to have Rapid Intake provide ongoing support and improvements to CourseBuilder and the Flash Learning Interactions.”
CourseBuilder is widely used among e-learning developers who use Dreamweaver to create online courses. It has traditionally been a free extension to Dreamweaver.
“We plan to continue to provide the current functionality in the CourseBuilder extension as a free download for anyone who wants to use it,” said Steven Hancock, President of Rapid Intake. “It contains several different categories of interactive templates that make creating online quizzes and other activities easy to create and customize.”
Users will get the added benefit of choosing to pay for enhanced versions of CourseBuilder, such as integrated SCORM compatibility and new interaction templates.
“As Dreamweaver and Flash e-learning developers ourselves, we have a short list of things we know we want to add to CourseBuilder and the Flash Learning Interactions, but our first goal is to gather input from other users. So we’ve created an online survey to help us gather than information," said Hancock.
