Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) May 15, 2006 -- IPv6 Summit, Inc., a subsidiary of Innofone.com, Inc. (OTC: INFN), announced today that the upcoming Federal IPv6 Summit network communications security conference in Reston, VA from May 17-19, will feature a panel of crisis response experts that will discuss how IPv6 emergency communications security can enable first responders emergency radio and data communication security– law enforcement agencies, firefighters, federal agents, National Guard units – to finally all communicate with each other, something they were unable to do during 9/11 and after Hurricane Katrina.

The New Internet, also known as Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), is a massive emergency communications and network security upgrade to the existing Internet (IPv4, in service since 1973) that offers major improvements in computer security, network security, information security, mobility and interoperability, which resulted in recent action by the OMB (Office of Management and Budget of the White House) that mandated this new standard for the entire Federal Government.

«During the 9/11 tragedy, many first responders died tragically – New York firefighters were still being sent up the North Tower while a Police helicopter radioed that the South Tower was coming down,» according to Matt Walton, Chairman of the Emergency Interoperability Consortium. «Five years later, almost nothing has changed – first responders still cannot talk with one another via emergency radio communications, as was evidenced in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. At the upcoming information security conference we will examine how the New Internet technology can finally enable them to not only talk with each other, but exchange vital data and video images.»

In addition to several presentations on Emergency Response, the Summit will highlight other benefits that the US government expects from IPv6 – including secure mobile and data communications for military and other units. The decision by the Federal Government to transition its IT (Information Technology) systems to this new standard will have profound future consequences for network and data security Industry – the US Government awarded over $28 billion in IT procurements in the first quarter of 2006 alone.

Speakers at the Summit are world-class experts in Information Technology security, crisis response, and network planning and management, and include Dr. Ralph Wyndrum, Jr., President of the IEEE (the world's largest technical professional association); General (R) Dennis Reimer, former Chief of Staff, US Army; Dr. Henry Kelly, President of the Federation of American Scientists; Dr. John McManus, CTO (Chief Technology Officer) of NASA; Mr. Tim Schmidt, CTO of the Department of Transportation; Maj. General William Rajczak, Mobilization Assistant for the Commander, Joint Forces Command; Mr. Matt Walton, Chairman of the Emergency Interoperability Consortium; Dr. Jack Potter, Director of Medical Emergency Mgt. in Va. and Board Member, COMCARE Alliance; Mr. Mark Bayliss, CEO of Visual Link (multimedia network provider), City leaders of Harrisonburg, Va. (the first IPv6/wireless city in America), as well as other leaders of the homeland defense, military and emergency response community. Online registration is at http://www.usipv6.com/?GCID=C17606x007.

Summit network security conference attendees will be able to:

• Learn how IPv6 technology can play a vital role for future Hurricane Katrina-level disaster response.

• Learn how New Internet IPv6 technology can enable critical initiatives related to Immigration Reform.

• Get the updated US Government (including DoD) Transition Plans for IPv6 – both the status today and the road map for the future.

• Meet with government and industry leaders to arrange strategic alliances and initiate business presentations for new products and services.

«This important conference will be a unique opportunity to hear from world experts how IPv6 can be an essential part of the solution to major problems – including response to a Katrina-type disaster, dealing with the identification and border security elements of the immigration reform issue, and helping our energy exploration and conservation efforts,» said Alex Lightman, CEO of IPv6 Summit, Inc. and Conference Chairman. «Visitors to this Summit will see how this new standard -- which has been mandated by our military and government -- will support solutions to a wide range of critical problems for our Nation.»

The Federal IPv6 Summit is being held in coordination with defense, emergency response and other government agencies, in Reston, VA, within easy commuting distance of the Pentagon and Washington, D.C., in a convenient and very affordable venue. In addition to the two-day conference, the 17th of May features a Tutorial on the business, technology and security aspects of the New Internet – seating for this day is limited, so please register early.
