EarthLink, Google Tapped for San Francisco Wi-FI and Verizon Wireless Purchases Mid-Missouri Cellular

Internet Service Provider industry news provided by Financial News USA (OTC: FNWU) A San Francisco city commission has selected a joint bid by Web search leader Google Inc. and Internet service provider EarthLink Inc. (Nasdaq:ELNK) to provide free wireless access throughout the city. The Department of Telecommunications and Information Services said late on Wednesday that the city will begin contract negotiations with EarthLink and Google to create a widely available wireless broadband network across San Francisco. Verizon Wireless (NYSE:VZ) announced recently it has purchased the operating assets of Mid-Missouri Cellular, which will expand Verizon Wireless' network footprint in seven counties in central Missouri. Financial terms are not being disclosed. Mid-Missouri Cellular customers will be notified directly about the purchase in the coming weeks. Verizon Wireless plans to continue serving Mid- Missouri Cellular's 13,500 customers using the existing Mid-Missouri brand name, network and billing system until later this year.Zaldiva (TM), Inc. (OTCBB: ZLDV), (Xetra Exchange: UZ8) recently announced that it has enhanced its Affiliate Program to include character and name-brand-themed banners.
