Big Blue Saw Customers Turn Ideas into Plastic and Metal Parts with Help from Google Checkout

Big Blue Saw has become the first custom digital manufacturer to support Google Checkout. Customers were already pleased with Big Blue Saw's system for creating custom metal and plastic parts. By integrating the new shopping cart and payment processing service from Google, Big Blue Saw can now satisfy its customers more efficiently and reduce costs.

“Credit card payment gateways and existing online payment systems take a hefty cut of our revenues,” said Simon Arthur, president of Big Blue Saw. “Advertising with Google's AdWords program allows us to earn free transactions with Google Checkout. We advertise with AdWords anyway, so this is a big win for us.”

Big Blue Saw's customers also like the added security of knowing their financial information is made solely available to a trusted third party like Google. “Big Blue Saw isn't a household name yet, so people weren't sure if they could trust us,” Arthur said candidly. “In the past, our customers have told us flat out that they aren't comfortable with certain payment systems. This isn't an issue with Google.”

Big Blue Saw is on the cutting edge in the new field of digital manufacturing services. Its customers upload their designs for parts for their projects: model aircraft, decorative craft tools, robotic rovers, movie prop replicas, and anything else their creative imaginations demand. Big Blue Saw then turns the designs into physical parts using robotic manufacturing machines including waterjet cutters. Customers have the flexibility of having their designs come to life in a range of materials ranging from aluminum to stainless steel to plastic.

Robert Rice of Seattle, Washington, was one of the first customers to check out using Google Checkout on Big Blue Saw. It was completed with the expected quality and under the estimated completion time.”
