Article-Find Service Launched By ex Google Answers Researcher press release
9 January 2007 XooxleAnswers Article Find and Delivery Service -- an online newspaper, magazine and journal article retrieval service -- has been launched by David Sarokin, one of the most prolific researchers at the now-retired Google Answers research service.
"This new service is cheap, fast and on target", said Sarokin. "We can find that science article you need for your thesis, the Wall Street Journal article you read last week about an upcoming IPO, a medical journal article on a new cancer treatment, or a birthday newspaper -- a front page from the day you were born."
Despite the ease of internet access, retrieving the full text of newspaper, magazine and journal articles is still surprisingly difficult. There is no one source that carries all major publications.
"The New York Times Archives only cover the NY Times. Lexis Nexis, Factiva or Proquest cover a lot of newspapers, but they don't have all the available material", Sarokin said. "ScienceDirect gets you some, not all, of the science and medical literature. Same story with Questia, eLibrary, Highbeam, NetLibrary, ebrary, pubmed, a9.com and others. They have deep databases, but none of them carry it all!"
XooxleAnswers' Article Find Service is different. With access to dozens of mainstream databases, and hundreds of lesser-known sources, XooxleAnswers can track down the article you need. "We can find the full text of almost anything that's electronically available", said Sarokin.
"In a lot of cases, we can even get you a PDF of the original page images, with photos, charts and illustrations, just as they appear on the printed page. Think of XooxleAnswers as the internet version of a clipping service, or better yet, your online interlibrary loan specialist".
"Articles aren't just from the internet era, either. We can get you copies of as-it-happened newspaper articles reporting on the Lincoln assasination, the Hindenburg explosion, or other major and minor historical events".
XooxleAnswers, based in Washington DC, can even arrange access the the world's largest library, through on-site retrieval of documents from the Library of Congress.
Articles are delivered via email in plain text, pdf, or other widely-used formats. Article Find and Retrieval Services begin at $25 for simple searches.
"There's no charge for looking, though," says Sarokin. "If we can't find your article, you don't have to pay".
