Aliant announces innovative Wi-Fi Internet service for businesses
31 March 2006 Aliant, Atlantic Canada's leading information and communications technology provider, today announced an innovative Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) Internet service for businesses in Atlantic Canada. The service offers businesses an end-to-end, comprehensive Internet gateway solution featuring enhanced security and flexible billing options.
The service - powered by SolutionInc's SolutionIP(TM) software - enables Atlantic Canadian businesses to provide their customers with seamless wireless, or wired, Aliant High-Speed Internet access while on their premises. The service is an integral part of Aliant's continued investment in its network, and related services, in the region.

The easy-to-use, seamless service is currently being deployed in the hospitality sector. At this time, 19 hotels in Atlantic Canada offer the Internet service on their premises. The service provides guests with access to Aliant High-Speed Internet in their hotel room, meeting room, business centre or hotel lobby.
Aliant and SolutionInc have partnered to provide businesses with Aliant High-Speed Internet, Wi-Fi infrastructure, structured cabling services and the SolutionIP(TM) system. The system allows for seamless Internet access and enables customers to send and receive email and connect to corporate Virtual Private Networks (VPN) as if they were in the office. The service also provides enhanced security and flexible billing options and business models for businesses in the region.
