"Adventures in Canada" to become global - Section Rouge Média Inc. secures the exclusive worldwide adaptation and distribution rights of the "A
19 September 2006 Image in Média Inc. ("Image") - a wholly-owned subsidiary of Section Rouge Média Inc. (TSX Venture Exchange - SRO, "Section Rouge") announced today that it has acquired from Céthial Inc., the exclusive worldwide adaptation and distribution rights to develop "Adventure in ..." franchise for the international marketplace based on "Adventures in Canada" line of products. The Agreement is for a period of 18 months with an option to extend for an additional 60 months.
Since it's introduction to the Canadian marketplace, "Adventures in Canada", a cross-platform property including books, web activities and spin off products such as apparels and games, has sold over 50,000 copies of the books and its merchandise is found at Zellers stores from coast to coast.
"Adventure in Canada" is a cross-platform brand, created by Céthial Inc., aimed at 6 to 10 y.o. children, featuring a family of curious mice who via their escapades discover the country's history and geography instilling in kids the curiosity to learn more.
"Adventure in..." "is a concept that transcends boundaries and is adaptable to different countries" said Pierre Bernatchez, Vice-President and Chief Executive Officer of Section Rouge. "First, we will focus on the U.S. marketplace; together with Céthial and Paul Van den bossche, the property's creator we will adapt the property for this new market. We are planning to start of "Adventure in America" with a series of illustrated books and with online activities. Simultaneously, we will explore the possibilities to animate the property for television or for the Internet" he added.
